Already a decent guitarist, he began soaking up information from professional guitar techs, learning how to repair, modify and maintain guitars. He became friends with Fred Walecki, an icon in the world of gear, and that took his education to the next level.
He was valuable, Schoo said, because he knew his job, was responsible and had no drug habits. Schoo was working with pop band Mr. Mister in , a pretty good gig considering the band had just sold several million records. They were in the same recording studio as Lanois, who was producing Robbie Robertson's first solo album in another room.
Schoo was recruited to fix Robertson's guitar and the results got the attention of Lanois, who had recently co-produced U2's "The Unforgettable Fire.
Mister, man. Do you know who we are? Two days later The Edge called Schoo — he still has the message on an answering machine tape — and their year friendship began after an intense band interview on a gloomy day in Dublin. U2's current tour celebrates the 30th anniversary of "The Joshua Tree," the band's defining album.
The "Joshua Tree" tour was Schoo's first with the band and it was a wake-up call. The Edge came as a package deal with a wall of gear that allows him to build layers of sound using delays, processors and effects — it's normal these days for Schoo to be in charge of more than 40 guitars during tours and another plus pieces of electronics gear.
Compared to past gigs, where the hardest job was stringing a string guitar, this one came with a steep learning curve. Here's the lineup. Edge brought me along on this total endeavor of signal transparency. He was a pioneer in my world. Schoo is careful to make clear that Edge is the architect of his sound while Schoo is the caretaker.

I remember it every day, especially when those certain songs play. I especially remember the moment when Magnificent was played and the stadium turned into sea of blue, and tears were shed.
And I remember how we sang our heart out during Mysterious Ways. And now here we are Hope to catch ya in Chicago or Miami. Loved the show so much, making the Roadie to Denver to see the show again. It reminded me of the concert, and how much fun my bro and I had standing under the "bridge" as Bono danced and sang above I can only hope for another opportunity to see these guys again.
When I get the chance, I am taking these young fans with me to the next show! U2, you play with total effort and class. What an honor it is to share your music with the next generation. How many bands can stretch the decades like you guys are! Thanks for all the memories! Hope to see you guys this summer. Have seen them on every tour since Unforgettable Fire In San Francisco with the Waterboys opening Saw them in Dallas two nights prior and would have driven to Norman if I didn't to be at work the next day.
The sound was much better in Houston than Dallas and was a tighter more inspired show although I don't complain about Dallas. Went with my wife and son who I took with us when we saw them at the Cow Palace when he was nine months old yes we plugged his ears in So you could say I'm a big fan.
Their music has inspired me beyond words. I am still flyin' high from the concert in Houston 2 weeks ago. I've seen U2 five times-been listening and loving them form over 20 years!
The stage rocked! The music was perfection! The band- please Thanks a million guys! The concert was by far the best I've ever been to. For me it was like a floodgate moment. That was the world I wanted to occupy whereas a lot of punk was a visceral thing He said, 'That one deserves to be finished. He's one of our bodyguards.
